The Sigma Eta Lambda Foundation, Inc scholarship program awards three $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors, male or female, pursuing a major in Education or STEM.

 

Applicants must demonstrate leadership, community service, and a commitment to school improvement. Students can apply to more than one scholarship as long as they meet the criteria.

Jewel Charles Henry Chapman Scholarship

This scholarship honors Jewel Brother Charles Henry Chapman, one of the seven visionary founders of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. A dedicated advocate for higher education, Jewel Chapman served as a professor at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), where he championed the importance of learning and the development of global citizens. In recognition of his legacy, this scholarship is awarded to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).

SIGMA ETA LAMBDA (SHL) Pearls STEM Scholarship

This scholarship honors the nine exceptional charter members of the Sigma Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. These visionary men were trailblazers in their respective fields and pioneers in expanding Alpha’s presence in an underrepresented region of Georgia. In recognition of their legacy, this scholarship supports graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue a major in a STEM-related field, empowering the next generation of innovators and leaders.

Community Impact Scholarship

This scholarship reflects the mission of the Sigma Eta Lambda Foundation, which is "to empower youth to reach their full potential, fostering personal growth, community engagement, and positive contributions to society." The Community Impact Scholarship aligns directly with this mission by recognizing graduating high school seniors who are actively involved in their communities, schools, and social groups. The Sigma Eta Lambda Foundation, Inc ​provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors based on their academic achievement, leadership ability, extra curricular activities, and potential to positively impact society.  Students must plan to attend an accredited 2 or 4 year institution. 

The Foundation provides scholarship awards to students attending a Rockdale, Newton, or Walton County high school.

The Common Black College Application allows students to submit a single application to all Participating Member Institutions (over 40), interact with school counselors, learn about HBCUs, and much more to further their college preparation experience.  The Sigma Eta Lambda Foundation, Inc covers the application cost for students each year that are interested in applying to a HBCU using this application.

The Foundation provides sponsorship to students attending a Rockdale, Newton, or Walton County high school.
